1. Oysters, Oysters, Oysters!
You can indulge in fresh oysters, shucked for you by the growers of some of the region’s best! 2. A Wine Run?!
Grab some friends and enjoy a trail run along gorgeous farms and finishing amongst the vines. After the race, there will be dinner, wine, and music in the vineyard. $65. 3. A Festival of Wine, Chocolate and Cheese
More wine in fun settings! This event lets you taste over 50 wines from 14 different vineyards, each sip showcasing the coastal terroir of Southeastern New England. 4. Surf’s Up!
What a special opportunity! Buzzards Bay Coalition and Gnome Surf bring you a beginner-friendly session all about fun, ocean connection, and learning the basics of surfing for adults. 5. (Almost) Solstice Bonfire!
The Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust bring the hot dogs, veggie dogs, and s’mores. Roast yours over the open fire while enjoying live music. BYOB. Suggested donation of $10 per person. June 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 at Helfand Farm. More info and register here!
6. Swim for Clean Water!
On June 20th, hundreds of swimmers will dive into the New Bedford Harbor to raise money for clean water for the Buzzards Bay Coalition. Starting at Cisco Beach in New Bedford, they’ll swim their way to Fort Phoenix to enjoy a pancake and beer breakfast bash. It’s not too late to start training! Or plan to come cheer them on, or volunteer! June 20 at 7 am. More here.
7. Ante Up!
The Onset Bay Association’s annual Kayak Poker Run happens today! Launching from Shell Point, participants pick up 5 cards while paddling around Onset Bay. Once back at the Point, each person will have the opportunity to discard 1-5 cards and purchase new ones for $2 per card. Prizes and pizza party to follow! $25. Registration at 9 am; launch at 10 am. 8. Get Artsy!
Celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Westport Art Group with a special exhibit highlighting artists through their seven decades. Many of the exhibition paintings have been in private homes being loaned for this Show. There will also be current artists exhibiting as well as historical mementos, pictures and articles. Free. Opening reception on June 5 to see the exhibit, meet the artists and a champagne toast to WAG’s history and future. The exhibit will run from June 4 to 21. The Thursdays thru Sundays 1:00-5:00 at 1740 Main Road, Westport.
