If you've been inside St. Anthony of Padua Church in the North End, you know how amazing it is. Now, imagine it hosting a 3-D projection light show, combining art, light and music. Free. December 7 at 5 pm. 78 Nye St, New Bedford. More here.

2. Peek Inside Some Holiday Homes!

It's like being in a Hallmark movie when you visit the historic New Bedford homes all decked out in their holiday finery. We love this annual tradition! December 8, starting at 11 am. $25 for members/ $30 for non-members. More here.

We are serious about good cookies and here's a fun way to indulge. First, the Coastal Foodshed is hosting an after hours event to raise money for their Farm to Food Relief program (sliding scale, pay what you can). December 12, 6 to 9 pm at Kilburn Mill. 127 West Rodney French Boulevard, New Bedford. More here. 4. Map the Night Sky

Join the Westport Land Trust to view the Geminid Meteor Shower. You bring the sense of adventure. They'll provide a brief intro to winter stargazing and some binoculurs. Free. December 13 from 7:30 to 9 pm. Sign up here.

The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra makes its Holiday Pops a beloved tradition for us (and so many others). Don't miss it this year! There will be music, some singalongs, and....Santa. December 15 at 3:30 and 7:00. Tickets from $20. More here.

6. Wickets Wonderland

Head on over to Onset for a quick boat ride over to Wickets Island where you'll climb the stairs to enjoy the 360 degree view from the top, along with fireside treats and hot chocolate to celebrate the winter solstice with the Buzzards Bay Coalition. Free. December 20 from 4 to 7.

Or celebrate the solstice with the Westport Land Trust with a stroll into the woods, gathering greens to burn alongside the Yule Log. Free. December 20 from 4:15 to 6. More here. 

Holiday carolers8. Have a Holly Trolley Christmas

Jump on the Fall River trolley and enjoy caroling and festive activities for all ages! What a fun way to spend the Sunday afternoon before Christmas! Free. December 22 from 3 to 6 pm. Various locations in Fall River. More here.
